Dave Coles' Triangle Game Official Rules
I have tried for a long time to develop an entertaining game that an individual
can play with just a piece of paper and a writing instrument. Most of this
research has been done during long meetings at work. Dave Coles' Triangle
Game (DCTG) is the result. Memorize the following simple rules and open
the door to hours of challenging fun and distraction. I place Dave Coles'
Triangle Game, the Rules thereof, and the examples below, into the public
domain.
RULES:
1. Use straight lines only
2. Lines may cross other lines.
3. What is the maximum number of triangles you can draw using 'X' number
of lines?
4. No non-triangles allowed anywhere in the design.
5. Score = Triangles / Lines (So 5 lines which make 4 triangles has
a score of 0.8)
Feel free to email me your designs and I'll post them here and give you full credit. My email address
is davcoles@intrepid.net and I'd love to hear from you.
PS - What can you do at 15 or 20 or 30 lines? Send 'em to me and
I'll post 'em for all the world to see. ALL graphics sent to me should
be in .GIF format and include text lines giving # of lines, # of triangles
and Score, plus any identifying / credit text you want included.
Enjoy!
